brilliant. You are getting much better at the rendering of this stuff now. ( not that you were poor or anything but I can see a clear and upwards progression )
It does not look to me as if you do any preparation sketching for these ( not that it would be visible ) and if not I think it might be the step to take to at least give you a guide for fleshing out your paintings. I find it very hard personally to get any life into anything if I've not sketched and shaded it first, even if I discard all that later.
Great stuff this one though, fantastic lighting.

And lovely texturing too, a really nice dark gothic feel to this....
