Finished at last

Full length finished 323k animation if you clicky here
Unfortunately, the full size .mov file ended up as 1Gb, (it was over 200 layers!
not 170 like i originally thought) so that didn't go to plan, and I'm no good at all with video/compression etc so that idea has been binned.
But the Full .PSD is here if you want to play with it - clickeroonie! (its 23.8 Mb though so only click if you REALLY want it!)
And if all that is too much, here's a wallpaper version, using the plastic
wrap filter on the coloured layers to create a glass Sonic... click here

thing is,
the tutorial's not much use without the talent to draw sonic like that in the first place.
Nice, though.

i cheated, really, i didn't draw from scratch,
i traced over a pic i found on google with paths and then stroked each path, coloured and shaded and added details and a background. job done ;)

I disagree......
I can't actually draw for toffee...... but find this most instructive because it is an insight into how others employ the tools in photoshop ...... the drawing of sonic is just a catalyst for the demonstration of how pickle arranged his layers and applied affects colours and shading on top, beneath and behind them and one could employ those methods and tecniques on whatever one was trying to achive .......

Great stuff......
The most interesting thing about this is that you went about doing this in a compleatly different way than I would ( what was it we both said about liking to see how others go about achiving their end result.)......I will download the PSD for a look later on I'm on dialup so it will only take me about an hour..!!
